The Movember campaign raises awareness of male cancer risks. It's been prevalent these past few years. They have some lovely creative already but I just had this one idea digging away in my head so approached them with it.
Basically, I imagined that there would be a 'reserved' upper lip space made available by said famous supporters that would be auctioned off to the highest bidder. So corporations or brands could pay to pick the style of the Movember Mo the celebrity would then grow.
The main concept was for an Ad campaign (shown here). I believed this campaign could look great as large posters and adverts featuring some possible signed-up celebs with the words 'reserved' above their top lips and the date of Movember to the right. Obviously as a marketed campaign and a focus to promote.
Good idea? I'll let you decide but it would be a great vehicle to promote the organisation and concern first most, the celebrity and the important high bidding sponsor would all get press and accolade, thus creating exposure and additional funds with which to extend their activity and research further.
I also scribbled some random ideas for clings – electrostatic film with printed messages and moustache on that could be stuck to mirrors in bathrooms of public places, bus windows etc with a call to action. These could have been good fun and interactive, although simple. Also some building and vehicle moustaches. Again with larger sponsorship figures in mind in key and prominent places such as office towers and where visible, such as Canary Wharf.
